AC Schnitzer pulls 620 horsepower from the M550i’s turbo V8.
They offer a complete list of aero upgrades for both the sedan and the wagon.
Based in Aachen, Germany, AC Schnitzer is another well-established tuner of European cars and Toyotas. They are best known for building impressive BMWs and they’ve just released their collection of tuning upgrades for the new BMW 5 Series.
As can be expected, AC Schnitzer will visually upgrade the 5 Series will a complete aerodynamic kit that features side-sill extensions, rear spoilers, diffusers, and, of course, various wheels sized between 19- and 21 inches. We use the plural for the accessories as they are offered for both the sedan and the sublime station wagon. A lowering suspension, which drops the 5 Series by 30mm or 1.2 inches, is another option.
At the moment, AC Schnitzer has engine tuning options for the petrol-powered 540i and M550i. According to formacar.com, the 6-cylinder’s output grows to 400 horsepower from the standard 335. The M550i’s power shoots to 620 horsepower from 523, which places nearly on par with the current M5 Competition with its 617 horsepower.
If you are in the market for a new BMW M5, know that AC Schnitzer’s previous M5 tune extracted 720 horsepower…
