Accessories That Protect Your Vehicle in Winter

The following accessories help protect your vehicle and preserve its resale value in winter

  • Winter can wreak havoc on your vehicle
  • The right accessories can protect your vehicle’s resale value and prevent costly repairs in the spring

With winter being just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about protecting your vehicle. We all know that winter is very harsh on our car both on the body and the mechanics. Luckily, there are a range of accessories that will help protect your vehicle from the harshness of winter.

Winter Mats

Winter mats are probably the best winter accessories for your vehicle that you can buy, only because they are so useful and costs so much less that the value they provide. We tend to bring a bunch of salt and dirt into our vehicle every time we get in in winter. Winter mats prevent the calcium from forming on your summer mats.

“Winter mats are such an affordable accessory for winter driving, there’s no reason we shouldn’t all have some. They are by far the easiest way to avoid costly winter damage on our vehicle”, says a parts expert at The Honda Way.

 Protective Wrap

A wrap is a transparent film that your dealership can install on your vehicle in order to protect the most exposed areas like the bumper, the housing for the side view mirrors, the front part of the hood, and whatever else protrudes from the vehicle they can come in contact with the small rocks on the road. We all know that the road is a lot dirtier in winter and this protective wrap keeps your paint protected from small dings and dents. It helps preserve the resale value and avoids costly body repairs in the spring.

Winter Wheels

We don’t think that we have to mention winter tires, because it is a given that they are needed in winter. However, we do feel compelled to mention that winter wheels could be a great investment. Winter wheels protect your original wheels from damages and they also allow you to install a tire that is one size smaller than your original wheel, thus saving you money. You might also want to look into winter wiper blades which are designed to provide better contact with your windshield and in the process improve visibility.
