Acura reveals Electric Vision design at Monterey Car Week.
Los Angeles design team explores EV-era performance aesthetics.
Design showcases powerful proportions and neon green signature lighting.
Acura recently surprised enthusiasts at the prestigious Monterey Car Week with a sneak peek into its Electric Vision. The surprise came on the heels of the world debut of its 2024 ZDX and ZDX Type S models. Every year, the Monterey Peninsula serves as a platform for Acura to showcase its upcoming product visions, and this year was no different.
The electric design study, born from the Acura Design Studio in Los Angeles, hints at Acura’s intentions as the brand accelerates towards a zero-emissions future. The innovative design features thrilling performance proportions, a powerfully sculpted silhouette, contrasting surfacing, and an attention-grabbing neon green lighting signature. These elements collectively elucidate Acura’s ongoing evolution of the Precision Crafted Performance design language.
Dave Marek, Acura’s executive creative director, shared insights on the creation process, saying, “Our Acura design team in Los Angeles is dreaming up the future of Acura Precision Crafted Performance in the EV era.” He added that the latest all-electric high-performance model design is inspiring the studio to push boundaries, and the team was eager to share their progress with Acura’s fans.
Furthermore, the spotlight also shined brightly on the 2024 ZDX and ZDX Type S. These groundbreaking models are set to be Acura’s first all-electric performance SUVs, expected to hit the market early next year. Especially noteworthy is the ZDX Type S, which, with an anticipated 500 horsepower, promises to be the quickest accelerating and most powerful SUV in the brand’s storied history. This commitment to the brand’s ethos of Precision Crafted Performance demonstrates Acura’s dedication to its electrified future.
