Only 500 units of the GTA and GTAm will be built.
The GTAm is a full-on hardcore track car with four doors.
The turbocharged 2.9-litre V6 puts out 540 horsepower and weighs 220 lbs less than the Giulia Quadrifoglio.
This new Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm takes the already impressive Giulia Quadrifoglio up to 11 on the scale of monster power, aerodynamics, and track-focused readiness.
The well-known YouTuber, Schmee, is no stranger to super- and hypercars. For this video, he’s been given access to the new Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA (Gran Turismo Alleggerita, or lightweight) and not just a regular one, but full-on track-attack ready GTAm.
As he walks around, the extra bodywork on this m (for modificato) is clear and present. The front fascia is hyper-aggressive with plenty of air inlets and an adjustable splitter while, at the other end, the large spoiler looks incredibly appropriate, sitting proudly above the massive lower splitter. Between the two ends are fenders that are widened by a total of 5cm and center-lock 20-inch wheels. There’s carbon fibre on nearly every panel, and the rear windows are made of Lexan. The GTAm is stunning.
Onboard, it’s all business too. There are racing bucket seats up front, Alcantara everywhere and, there’s no back seat to be found in the m. In its stead, a roll cage and storage for helmets (included with the car along with a suit) and fire extinguisher. If you have a family, the “regular” non-m GTA has a rear bench.
If you’re more interested in how the GTAm sounds with its tuned 540 horsepower (up from 505) 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 with Akrapovic exhaust, you can skip to 7:12. The noise will give you goosebumps. The car sounds angry. Very angry.
There are only three colours available including GTA Red, Montreal Green, and Trophy White. Pricing is set to start at €181,500, or about $213,600 US, and it looks as though it won’t be offered in North America.
