Alfa Romeo Teases the Beginning of a New Era

Odds are that we are looking at a small electrified SUV from Alfa Romeo

Alfa Romeo has recently teased its latest creation, what we believe to be the 2025 Alfa Romeo ‘Junior’. This new entry in the sub-compact SUV sector marks a return of sorts to smaller offerings for the Italian automaker, as it nestles beneath the Tonale in the brand’s lineup.

The Design of the Upcoming Alfa Romeo Small SUV Might Have Leaked

Many speculate that the teaser is that of a new Stelvio, new MiTo, or even the return of the Giulietta, and while this new model will be inheriting the spirit of its predecessor, the B-segment MiTo supermini, this new model wi9ll undoubtedly be a more practical, five-door SUV design.

Based on leaked images shared in September, the compact SUV boasts a unique angular Scudetto grille, reminiscent of the iconic 33 Stradale, married with Giulia-style intakes and a central license plate setting. The intricate LED headlight design sets it apart from the Alfa fleet, while the rear of the SUV is accentuated with a coupe-style glass, a double-spoiler ensemble, and slender LED taillights. These elements, coupled with the signature phone-dial wheels, create an unmistakable Italian sporty flair.

This new SUV will utilize the versatile CMP/eCMP platform, which is shared with Stellantis siblings like the Jeep Avenger and Fiat 600. The interior echoes this uniqueness with a custom digital cockpit and dark-themed upholstery choices.

Alfa Romeo’s new model is set to feature multiple powertrain options, from a turbocharged 1.2-litre mild-hybrid unit to more potent offerings akin to Peugeot and Opel models. The electric version, expected to be the lineup’s centerpiece, might offer single and dual-motor configurations. The dual-motor setup, in particular, is anticipated to deliver an exhilarating performance, akin to the 2022 Jeep Avenger 4×4 Concept.

Despite its compact size, the ‘Junior’ promises a driving experience infused with Alfa Romeo’s sporty essence. This will be achieved through a unique suspension and steering setup, distinguishing it from its mechanically related counterparts.

The name ‘Junior’, while fitting and historically resonant, remains unconfirmed. Alfa Romeo has skillfully kept the model’s official name under wraps, heightening intrigue and anticipation. We’ll know more soon enough as the SUV is slated for a European debut in early 2024.
