Alfa Romeo has a new SUV planned for the Geneva Motor Show called the Tonale.
Nothing has been confirmed yet, but the rumors swirling around right now are saying the new Alfa Romeo Tonale will share parts and components with the upcoming Jeep Compass set to be built in Europe.
Autoblog reported earlier that the Tonale was caught uncovered on the Geneva Motor Show floor by Facebook page Masera.
The pictures didn’t show much except distinctive LED daytime running lights, a small SUV shape, and the traditional Alfa Romeo rear three-quarter panel. The Tonale is named after a smaller pass similar to the Stelvio.
It would therefore make sense for a smaller SUV to take the name. It would also make a lot of hence for Alfa Romeo to unveil at new sport utility vehicle. The brand has been having trouble settling into the North American market where sport utility vehicles keep gaining popularity.
For a luxury automaker like Alfa Romeo, the more SUVs you have, the better. Moreover, this vehicle size works with what Alfa Romeo brings to the table in terms of driving dynamics.
Their precise handling and tiny sport steering wheel are pure joy and if we were rating luxury models in the 50k range strictly on the driving pleasure they provide, we would have trouble not putting Alfa’s lineup at the top.
If the Alfa Romeo Tonale is real, we will bring you all of the pictures tomorrow.
