All-Electric Volkswagen Station Wagon Might be Called ID.7 Tourer

Production of the Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer could begin in 2024

  • It would be the production version of the ID. Space Vizzion and Aero B.

  • Initially, it was thought to be called the ID.6.

Station wagon, Estate, and Touring lovers are rejoicing the world over as their favorite body style looks to have a very bright future. Within the Volkswagen Group alone, nearly every brand is slated to get a new wagon such as Porsche with the Taycan Sport Turismo and the gorgeous A6 Avant e-tron. We knew the ID. Space Vizzion/Aero B concepts were slated for production and now we might have a name.

Volkswagen ID. Space Vizzion Production Confirmed

Well, not quite an actual name, per se. Following Volkswagen’s now established ID. moniker for its EVs, the production version of the beautiful MEB-based electric station wagon is expected to become the 7, or the ID.7 more specifically.

The educated guess, as shared by electrive.com, comes from the fact that the European Patent Office listed the “ID.7 Tourer” name, the 018703388 entry number, on May 17th, 2022. Last year, it was suggested that ID.6 was to be used but it’s since been affixed to a China-only SUV.

Both a sedan and an estate, the ID.7 and ID.7 Tourer, will be assembled at Emden. The sedan is slated to be produced next year while the station wagon should roll off the line by 2024. No word yet if either will be sold in North America.
