Once more, only the sedan comes to America.
The new S3 retails for $44,900.
The new A3 is larger and more premium.
As is customary, German automakers are always quick to launch new products that we might not see in North America for at least a year. Case in point, in the heat of the growing pandemic in April of 2020, Audi debuted the all-new A3 sedan and hatchback. Now, it’s our turn.
The new 2022 Audi A3 offering is fairly limited in North America. As expected, the uber-cool and versatile hatchback is a no-show and only one engine will be available. The base FWD and quattro AWD-equipped models will feature a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that delivers 201 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. Between the drive wheels and the engine will be fitted as standard a 7-speed dual-clutch S tronic automatic transmission.
Included features with the base Premium A3 are heated, 8-way leather power front seats with 4-way power lumbar support, a panoramic sunroof, and three-zone climate control, a 10.1-inch MMI touchscreen, a 10.25″ digital instrument cluster, and much more.
The 2022 Audi S3 will also be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine but it will produce an appreciable 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Audi’s quattro AWD is standard as are a number of performance attributes including a sport suspension that lowers the car by 15mm (0.6 inches). Updates to the S3’s equipment include sport seats and a driver-focused cockpit.
Both iterations of the A3 and the S3 will be available in Premium, Premium Plus, or Prestige trims.
