As the name suggests, it will slot beneath the GV80 SUV.
The GV70 will spend the next month driving about in Korea.
Genesis has not wasted any time in making themselves quite visible to the buying public. The year started off with a bang and the GV80 made its way on the world stage. While it will surely be a popular luxury SUV alternative, the upcoming GV70 may quickly become a volume leader for Hyundai’s premium brand.
The images of the G-Matrix camouflaged GV70 were shared by Genesis, as opposed to being spy shots, which we think is brilliant. There are only a few visible hints as to some of the design elements that make up the GV70 and the most notable is the continued evolution of Genesis’ signature “Athletic Elegance” design language.
Only a few weeks ago, the updated G70 sedan’s face broke cover to a fair amount of praise, we might add. We suspect that the same level of sharp and sporty accents will find their way onto the GV70.
For the moment, no other details were shared as to power- and drivetrains but we can safely surmise that both the turbocharged 2.5-litre 4-cylinder and 3.5-litre V6 will be offered. The GV70 will likely be a 2022 model year vehicle and should arrive sometime in 2021.
