New Range Rover teased in photos
Borrows lines from Velar, turns up visual elegance
A new Range Rover is coming, set to be introduced next week, so naturally, the folks at Jaguar Land Rover are giving us a tease. The first glimpse of the all-new Range Rover shows a vehicle that looks, well, exactly as you’d expect for a new Range Rover.
The silhouette shown is heavily blurred, but it is also heavily reminiscent of the current-shape Range Rover that was first introduced in 2012. It’s not identical, of course, instead looking to be much more streamlined with a longer nose like that of the Range Rover Velar as well as a roofline that drops more prominently toward the rear.
The large front fender vents of the Rover seem to have been made much more subtle for this generation, but they could also be hidden in the photo by a body-colour treatment and that blur. It also has the flush door handles Range Rover first used on the Velar.
A teaser clip shows a new front grille treatment with rectangular metal bars linked with smaller lines. The signature Range Rover script on the hood is as prominent as ever, ensuring the people you’re tailgating know exactly what is behind them.
The company’s Chief Creative Officer calls it “the most desirable Range Rover ever created,” but we’ll want to see it for ourselves.
The full reveal happens on Tuesday, October 26th.
