Volkswagen is about to reach their goal with the Volkswagen ID.3 with 27,000 copies already reserved.
Volkswagen opened the order book for their first member of the ID. family, the ID.3, back in May. They had managed to have more than 10,000 pre-orders in less than 24 hours. The figure climbed to more than 20,000 in June.
That number is close to what the carmaker was hoping to get before the official unveil of the ID.3. Indeed, Volkswagen had hope to reach 30,000 reservations by the Frankfurt Auto Show, next month.
The pre-booking campaign that’s currently going on in Europe is for a special edition of the Volkswagen ID.3. The ID.3 1st is this special launch edition and will be limited to 30,000 vehicles.
Let’s remember that the Volkswagen ID.3 will come with three different battery sizes, 45 kWh, 58 kWh and 77 kWh, which will give it a range from 330 to 550 kilometres (WLTP). The ID.3 1st is only available with a 58 kWh battery and has a range of up to 420 kilometres (WLTP).
We will have more details and specs on VW’s ID. family of EVs during the Volkswagen announcement at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September.
