The upcoming Barbie movie will feature an all-electric Corvette C1 and a Hummer EV. According to the popular Forza Horizon 5 game, both will be bad*ss!
· An all-electric Corvette C1 will appear in the Barbie movie.
· A Hummer EV, in addition to a Chevy Blazer EV, will also be featured.
· The movie is set to release on July 21st.
While some people may see the new Barbie movie as controversial in its portrayal of Barbie and Ken, others may see it as an opportunity to explore and challenge societal norms and expectations. How would the movie directors go about presenting the film in a more sensible way, you hence may ask? Electric cars are the answer (maybe?)!
The movie will thus feature two highly polarizing yet quirky vehicles: the 2024 GMC Hummer EV and a 1953 EV-converted Chevrolet Corvette C1. Keep in mind that electric vehicles are like a serious librarian who turns out to be a karate black belt – unassuming, but oh so fatal. The popular video game Forza Horizon 5 actually provided us with an understanding of just how fatal the two vehicles appearing in the movie can be, as the game has made them available to drive for its players.
In-game, the Hummer EV offers real-world performance figures, producing 1,000 horsepower and 1,200 pound-feet of torque. The truck can complete the 0-100 kph sprint in less than 3,0 seconds, even though it weighs more than 9,000 pounds (that’s more than 3 times the weight of an original C1 ‘Vette, for reference).
The Electric C1 produces 302 horsepower (more than twice the power it produced back in 1953 with the ICE engine) and 332 pound-feet of torque. It can accelerate to 100 kph in 5,4 seconds and has a top speed of 200 km/h.
The movie premieres on July 21st, and in addition to the two cars discussed above, the Chevy Blazer EV will also make an appearance on the big screen, as we could see in the new teaser trailer released a few days ago. No pink treatment for this guy, though.
