This hand-built Ares Design Panther supercar is based on the Lamborghini Huracán but looks so much more coherent. Also, pop-up headlights.
The real bad news is that only 70 of these cars will be built over the next few years. The Ares Design Panther is built upon a Lamborghini Huracán rolling chassis complete with the 5.2-litre V10 engine and AWD. It was revealed this past weekend at this year’s edition of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este held near lake Como in Italy.
The Ares Design Panther is slightly larger than the Panther but maintains all of its proportions. We love the upswept tailpipes, the massive 20- and 21-inch wheels and did we mention the pop-up headlights?
Automotive Mike was there and shot a great video of the car. In it, we not only get a good overlook of the car’s seductive, heavily DeTomaso Pantera inspired shell, but of its cabin and engine sounds. The 641-horsepower and 442 lb.-ft. of torque V10 certainly sounds healthy.
The Ares Design Panther will be priced at $695,000 and production has already begun. Average build time will be of three months and deliveries start this week. Ares will be revealing a spyder or drop-top version before year’s end there are talks of a more hard-core iteration in the works.
The official, reborn, Detomaso brand and Pantera will be launched at this years, Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK!
