Their words: “This is no mere GT. Grand is not enough.”
Might this be the DB12? Or something more?
The press release sent out earlier today from Gaydon, UK, might be brief but it leaves little to interpretation. In less than ten days, Aston Martin will effectively introduce an all-new next-generation DB car that will be far more than just a GT.
Grand Touring. But Grand is no longer enough of a word to describe what Aston Martin will reveal to the world on May 24th. What exactly they will introduce isn’t clear other than it will be the next chapter of the British automaker’s legendary bloodline of DB cars. As we all know, DB comes from David Brown, or the man responsible in large part for AM’s globally admired collection of ultra-luxurious, fast, and powerful grand touring cars.
And the next DB is coming. And it will, according to Aston Martin, spearhead the British car maker’s next generation of sports cars, and this first model will be a stunning example of what’s to come. They go on and add “all [future] Aston Martin models characterised by prodigious performance and pinpoint driving dynamics, seamless integration of advanced technologies and the sublime style and impeccable craftsmanship for which the brand has long been renowned.”
We’re guessing that electrification will play an important role in the car’s performance and be an integral part of the advanced technologies. We’ll find out more on May 24th.
