A flooded underpass caused all sorts of problems for an Audi driver in Hungary
Audi has one of the most advanced all-wheel drive systems in the world, but even the Quattro system won’t help if your wheels aren’t touching the road. An Audi A7 driver in Hungary learned that lesson the hard way as he or she tried to cross a flooded underpass with no success whatsoever. Take a look.
Elsüllyedt egy autó az aluljáróban!
A lezárást és a vizet nem vette figyelembe az autós. Elsüllyedt a jármű egy pillanat alatt. Operatőrünk, Bárány István mindezt rögzítette.

We can see the driver accelerate full speed towards the water, but the car doesn’t stand a chance. The front end first skips on the surface of the water before dipping heavily while the rear wheels lift off the road. The car then floats and bobs in the water before hitting the concrete wall a few times for good measure.
From what we can tell, there’s more than a meter of water in that underpass, meaning the Audi was doomed from the start. Few SUVs would have been able to make it, let alone a luxury sedan. Even if the wheels had stayed on the road, the engine compartment would likely have flooded.
