Nogaro blue paint a nod to 1994 original hot wagon
Just 25 of the RS Tributes will be sold
You’re not likely to hear us say anything bad about Audi’s 591 hp RS 6 Avant wagon, other than that we don’t have one, but this one might be the best. The Nogaro Blue tribute to the RS that started it all. An RS Tribute edition paying respects to the 1994 Audi RS2 Avant and limited to just 25 cars.
The 4.0L twin-turbo V8-powered Audi RS 6 Avant, based on the wagon version of Audi’s A6, is on sale now, but this limited edition, which is also available now, is something special. The RS2 was the first high-performance wagon from Audi, based on the Audi 80, and with 315 hp from a Porsche-tuned five-pot and big honking tires inside pushed out wheel arches was the start of a high-performance era for the brand.
To celebrate, 25 of these RS 6 Avants in Nogaro Blue, a shade that is quite close to the original RS2’s signature hue, will be made. They also feature black accents on the grille, side blades, rear diffuser, and roof rails, because the original had black-out too. Though not a rear diffuser, those weren’t on road cars yet.
22-inch 5-V-spoke alloys are silver and wear summer tires, nicely framing the red brake calipers. Inside are carbon twill accents and denim blue stitching to contrast the Valcona leather S Sport seats and perforated leather steering wheel cover. There are RS floor mats and extra denim blue contrast stitching in the lower seat panels.
While not offering extra power, the RS Tribute does include the Driver Assist pack with adaptive cruise, as well as the Executive package with heated rear seats, head-up display, soft-close doors, and Bang & Olufsen audio. The U.S. MSRP for this one is $136,800. Expect them to go fast. And sell fast.
