Flat-bottom wheel returns
R8 RWD Performance gets more power
Audi has just announced upgrades to some of its 2022 Audi Sport models, including dynamic ride for RS 6 and RS 7, flat-bottomed wheels as standard, and an RS design package to show off the RS-ness of the fast Audis.
Starting with the 2022 Audi RS 5 models, the US-spec cars get new red edging for the belts as well as RS-logo mats and an Alcantara wheel. Bronze styling trim is offered as are 20-inch bronze wheels.
The 2022 Audi RS 6 Avant and RS 7 add dynamic ride control, a mechanical system that links diagonally-opposed shocks through a hydraulic line. So when the left front compresses in a hard right turn, the fluid pushes against the rear right and reduces body roll. Those models also get red or grey bordered belts, carbon and black optic packs, a standard flat-bottom wheel, and other small trim changes.
For the 2022 Audi RS Q8, Adaptive Cruise Assist and Active Lane Assist are standard, with traffic sign recognition and intersection assist optional. The RS design pack with similar belts, mats, and Alcantara as the others is available.
Lastly, for 2022 a new Audi R8 rear-drive performance model replaces 2021s with 562 hp instead of 532 hp and has 406 lb-ft of torque. A new sports exhaust is offered with black tips as is a dynamic package with ceramic brakes, titanium-finish wheels, and Nappa leather racing shell seats.
