85% scale recreation of iconic 1929 Bentley, electrically powered for modern urban environments.
Handcrafted details mirror original; 48V system offers 45 mph top speed and 65-mile range.
Global debut at Monterey Car Week; production for the 99 First Edition models starts 2024.
Bentley Motors, in collaboration with The Little Car Company, has taken a significant step back in time to the golden age of motoring. Together, they’ve reintroduced a cherished classic, the 1929 4½-litre Supercharged Bentley, but with a twist.
Dubbed ‘Blower Jnr’, this 85 percent scale recreation of the iconic Team Car No. 2 is primed to be the city car of the future. It boasts of being fully road-legal across the UK, EU, and USA. Integrated within the scaled-down masterpiece is a 48V electric system housing a 15 kW motor, allowing for an impressive top speed of 45 mph in the UK and EU, and 25 mph in the USA due to legislative restrictions.
This electric marvel doesn’t compromise on aesthetics or functionality. Each Blower Jnr is meticulously handcrafted from authentic materials to replicate the original, complete with a concealed charging port cleverly located within the ‘supercharger’ housing. The initial 99 units, termed the First Edition, will sport colours matching Team Car No. 2, accentuated by Union flags and distinctive details.
On the inside, the vehicle adopts a 1+1 seating layout, capable of accommodating two adults. The central adjustable driving position allows the driver to feel fully in control, while the passenger enjoys a comfortable ride in the rear seat. A bespoke weekend bag, fitting perfectly in a scaled-down, lockable fuel tank, complements the car’s design, combining both form and function.
It’s not just the exterior that pays homage to its predecessor; the interiors too are a nod to the past. The dashboard, crafted from Engine Turned Aluminium, features a drive mode selector reminiscent of the fuel pressure pump and a lever that echoes the ignition advance control from the original Blower. To cater to the modern driver, a USB charging point and a dual-function display serving as a satellite navigation screen and reversing camera have been seamlessly integrated.
Monterey Car Week attendees are in for a treat as Blower Jnr is set to make its grand debut in front of an exclusive audience of 100 VIPs.
