Even the wood is green in this one-off luxury ride
Made for one buyer, will be showcased at Shanghai auto show
The latest from Bentley Mulliner shows that if it’s not easy being green, it’s certainly still elegant. A one-off for a customer in China, this Bentayga Hybrid has been finished with detailing in the colour inside as well as out.
Mulliner says that the entire Bentley Bentayga was inspired by the colour green, which it says is the Chinese colour of purity, regeneration, hope, harmony and growth. That starts with the Viridian green exterior paint calling your attention at first, with wheels finished in the same hue dragging you in for an even closer look.
The Bentayga is set to be showcased at the Shanghai Motor Show this month, a display of the custom touches Mulliner can apply to any Bentley. The interior, too, is finished in Cumbrian Green hide with more than 100 metres of bright white hand stitching providing a contrast inside the cabin. Even the veneer woods are Cumbrian Green, finished in a piano-style glossy shine. Lastly, the Bentayga gets a silver metal overlay over a handcrafted geometric design in front of the passenger that is meant to be reminiscent of the EXP 100 GT concept car.
The dark greens were inspired by the British Lake District, with Viridian first appearing on the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept a number of years back. The green wood veneer is one of 103 different options Bentley Mulliner offers buyers for the inside of their vehicle.
