Bentley Updates the Flying Spur with Single Headlamps and Up to 20% more Power

• The sedan’s new design is inspired by the Continental GT coupe and convertible.

• This is the first time since 1962 that a Bentley sedan has single headlamps.

• The update also brings back the S model, with up to 20% more horsepower than previously.

The current Bentley Flying Spur was launched back in 2020 and received a light refresh in 2025. Despite this, the brand’s only sedan is getting another, more significant restyle for 2027.

Indeed, the Flying Spur will enter next year with a new face, shared with the Continental GT coupe and convertible.

This means that the new Flying Spur features single headlamps, a first since 1962 for a Bentley sedan, which had all featured two lamps per side in the years since.

The front grille and lower air intake have also been reworked to better integrate with the new lights and the Continental GT family.

While the side profile and rear end remain mostly unchanged, they have also been treated to sheet metal tweaks such as a new trunk lid and new taillamps.

New 22-inch wheel designs are also available for the Azure and S models.

Speaking of which, the Flying Spur S returns for 2027 with a more dynamic look and up to 20% more power than previous S versions.

Indeed, this model includes the Blackline specification, which adds black badges, dark-tinted windows, a black grille, unique wheels, and a number of other black or darkened design elements.

Under the hood, this version of the Flying Spur benefits from the same twin-turbocharged 4.0L hybrid V8 powertrain that delivers 671 horsepower and 686 lb-ft of torque as the standard and Azure models. Nevertheless, this output is 20% higher than any other Flying Spur S model that came before. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint is quoted at 3.7 seconds, and the top speed is 308 km/h.

To keep this power in check, the Flying Spur S borrows the Performance Active Chassis system from the Speed and Mulliner versions, which includes active all-wheel drive, twin valve dampers, torque vectoring, the 48V active anti-roll system, a limited-slip rear differential, and revised traction control software.

Other changes made to the 2027 Flying Spur include a new available paint colour, Dark Teal, as well as the Virtuoso Collection, which includes the Naim for Mulliner 21-speaker sound system, unique embroidery, and champagne-gold accents throughout.

Like the Virtuoso Collection on other Bentley models, this package is available in three themes for the Flying Spur: Soprano, Tenor, and Bass.

Production of the updated Bentley Flying Spur will start in September, ahead of the first deliveries planned for the fourth quarter of 2026.
