Bentley Will Introduce a New Model on 10th May

This new Bentley will be the flagship model of its range

  • This will be the 5th model in Bentley’s lineup.

  • Odds are that it will be a more luxurious version of the Bentayga SUV.

Bentley’s press release leaves little and much to the imagination. The key sentence is this: “the new model will sit in sumptuous comfort at the pinnacle of its range,” Knowing how important and popular the Benteyga is for Bentley’s range and bottom line, we’re likely soon to be introduced to a new version of the SUV.

The misleading bit in the announcement is that Bentley refers to this new vehicle as a new model, more specifically the 5th one, in the premium automaker’s lineup. Bentley’s portfolio consists of the Bentayga, the Flying Spur, and both the Continental GT and Continental GT Convertible, considered separate models.

There is a chance that the new model may be the Mulsanne replacement, but the market wants more SUVs and not sedans. When considering the fact that the Bentayga accounts for 2/5 of all Bentley sales, a hyper-premium iteration of the SUV makes sense.

Here’s the full press release so you can come up with your own opinion:

(Crewe, 29 April 2022) Bentley will announce a fifth model to join its portfolio of luxury cars at 12:30 BST on Tuesday 10th May. The company’s designers, engineers and craftspeople have gone to new lengths to combine luxury, technology and performance in a way that only Bentley can deliver. With an extra dimension of on-board wellness, the new model will sit in sumptuous comfort at the pinnacle of its range and deliver a breadth of capabilities beyond anything previously offered.
