We’re not sure what the legacy is either
Only 300 built, only for Canada
Canadians are getting a special version of the 2024 BMW M440i Gran Coupe. The Legacy Edition will be the only way to get a Gran Coupe without the i4 EV, and it will be limited to just 300.
BMW dropped the 4 Series Gran Coupe from Canada a few years back, which makes this special edition even more of a surprise. Prior to the Legacy Edition, BMW offered the i4 in that four-door coupe shape, but the 4er was only a coupe and the 3 Series the more formal sedan.
The Legacy Editon cars will come only as the M440i xDrive variant. That means a 382 hp version of the turbocharged 3.0L inline-six, an eight-speed auto, and all-wheel drive.
BMW will equip all 300 with the Premium Enhanced Package, M Sport Pro package, and bits like Adaptive M suspension, heated front and rear seats, and carbon interior trim.
Most BMWs offer a load of paint and interior custom options, but these ones won’t. There are just six packages, including black sapphire over black leather, Brooklyn grey over Tacora red leather, and mineral white over black leather. 75 copies of each of those three combinations will be made.
The three remaining combos will be a little rarer. They’ll also come with a sports exhaust. Violet blue over ivory Merino leather, aurora diamond green over Tartufo, and Imola red over black all combine Individual Manufaktur paint with BMW Individual leather, and just 25 of each will be made.
BMW says the more common combinations will start from $81,750. The Individual cars will run $89,750. Production starts this month, so if you’re interested get your order in now.
