BMW iX3 features 805 km range, 400 kW charging, and dual-motor all-wheel-drive system.
Panoramic iDrive, Operating System X, and four “superbrains” power a new digital user experience.
Lifecycle emissions reduced by 34%; 30% of vehicle made from secondary raw materials.
BMW has unveiled the new iX3, a fully electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) and the first series-produced model built on the company’s Neue Klasse architecture. Featuring sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology, the iX3 offers a WLTP range of up to 805 kilometres (approx. 640 km EPA) and supports a peak charging rate of 400 kilowatts. The market launch is planned for spring 2026 in Europe and summer 2026 in North America.

Production of the iX3 50 xDrive variant will begin in autumn 2025 at BMW Group’s new plant in Debrecen, Hungary. The model features two electric motors that produce a combined 345 kW (469 hp) and 645 Nm (476 lb-ft) of torque, with an electric all-wheel-drive layout. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 210 km/h.
The iX3 is powered by a 108.7 kWh battery. The vehicle can charge from 10 to 80 % in 21 minutes using 400 kW DC fast charging. At compatible stations, it can add up to 372 kilometres of range in ten minutes. It also supports bidirectional charging, including Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), Vehicle-to-Home (V2H), and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functions.

The debut of the BMW Panoramic iDrive and Operating System X introduces a fully digital, driver-focused cockpit experience. Information is projected across the entire windshield via BMW Panoramic Vision, while an upgraded Intelligent Personal Assistant supports voice and gesture control. The infotainment system enables streaming, gaming, and video conferencing.
The iX3 also incorporates a new electronics architecture, featuring four high-performance computers or “superbrains” that manage drivetrain, automation, infotainment, and comfort systems. The Heart of Joy module coordinates driving dynamics with responsiveness and energy efficiency.

Exterior styling introduces BMW’s new design language, defined by minimal forms and strong character lines. The iX3 measures 4,782 mm in length and has a drag coefficient of 0.24. Interior features include a floating instrument panel, backlit trim, and a flat, sofa-style rear seat. The cargo area offers up to 1,750 litres of space when rear seats are folded, with an additional 58 litres available in the frunk.
Standard equipment includes electric seat adjustment, climate control, and wireless phone charging. Optional features range from a Harman Kardon audio system to adaptive headlights and BMW’s Iconic Glow exterior lighting package. Various trim packages are available, including M Sport and BMW Individual configurations.

BMW states that the new iX3 achieves a 34 % reduction in carbon emissions over its lifecycle compared to its predecessor, based on a total mileage of 200,000 kilometres. When charged using renewable electricity, the vehicle’s carbon footprint becomes lower than that of a comparable internal combustion model after 17,500 kilometres. The vehicle uses up to 30 % recycled materials in its construction and 80 % secondary aluminium for various chassis components.
