This car will be part of M’s 50th-anniversary bash next year.
Apparently, it’ll spin its wheels at 75 mph meaning it could be RWD.
The 0-100km/h sprint disappears in 2.5 seconds.
BMW’s 1- and 2 Series have been some of our favorite driver-focused hot small cars for years. The 1M will go down as one of the greatest and most rewarding compact sports cars to drive hard in modern history. More recently, the M2 has taken over with its incredible reflexes and power. Seems as though the next iteration will be all-electric and go by the iM2 moniker.
Next year is BMW’s M division’s 50th anniversary. In the last half-century, they’ve created some of the most desirable performance cars of all time. To celebrate, rumours continue to circulate that M is preparing an electric M2 with no less than 1,000kw of power.
That works out to 1,341 horsepower in a small 2-door compact car. According to CarBuzz, the iM2 will be a rocket. It’ll reach 100km/h in 2.5 seconds and potentially lap the Nurburgring in about 6 minutes and 50 seconds. The sprint time could be affected by the possibility that the iM2 is RWD…
It’s unknown if the iM2 will be produced however if it is, it’s safe to assume that it will be a little-run car and be quite costly.
