Both the Chevrolet Equinox and Blazer to get EV Versions in 2023

Along with the reveal of the new all-electric Chevrolet Silverado, GM lets us know that more EVs are on the way

  • The Equinox is Chevy’s best-selling SUV.

  • The Equinox will launch in the spring of 2023 for the 2024 model year.

  • It will be priced at around $30,000 to start.

This is huge news. Although not physically as big as the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV, the coming of an electric version of both the compact Equinox and midsize Blazer is important.

This is especially in the Equinox’s case. A truly affordable electric SUV continues to elude consumers and Chevrolet is planning on delivering as early as spring 2023. The 2024 Equinox EV will start at an estimated MSRP of about $30,000.

“The Equinox has always played an important role for Chevrolet as the second-highest selling brand nameplate,” said Steve Hill, Chevrolet vice president. “Providing an affordable EV option in the industry’s highest-volume segment proves Chevy is going to make EVs available to everyone.”

The Equinox EV and the Blazer EV will be built upon GM’s Ultium Platform. The Equinox will be available in both fleet and retail versions and be offered in numerous trims including LT and RS.

GM is extremely busy developing its EV product portfolio. Well within the next 18 months, they will launch the following: BrightDrop electric vans, Chevrolet Silverado EV, Equinox EV, Blazer EV, along with GMC Sierra EV, GMC HUMMER EVs, and Cadillac LYRIQ and CELESTIQ. Let’s not forget they currently have the Bolt EV and EUV.
