The 2025 Buick Envista represents the second model year for the Tri-Shield brand’s urban crossover, indirectly replacing the Buick Encore that was sold in North America during the 2013 to 2022 model years. It’s available in three trim levels that are all equipped with the same powertrain.
2025 Buick Envista Changes and Updates
For its second model year, the Envista gets no significant changes. The Sunrise Red Metallic paint color is replaced by Aquamarine Blue Metallic, while Copper Ice Metallic is no longer available on the Sport Touring trim level, and White Frost Tricoat is reserved for the Avenir only.
The U.S.-market Envista switched to an E85 or flex-fuel-capable engine for 2025, but the Canadian-market Envista did not.
2025 Buick Envista Trim Levels and Pricing
The Envista is available in Preferred, Sport Touring and Avenir trim levels. Obviously, the ST is the one to choose for if we prefer a sporty appearance, while the Avenir is the most luxurious of the lineup.
A turbocharged 1.2L three-cylinder engine producing 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque is fitted as standard in every trim level, managed by a six-speed automatic transmission. A front-wheel drivetrain is the only one offered—no AWD.

What the 2025 Buick Envista Does Well
- The Envista looks good. So good, in fact, it gives the impression that we paid more for it than we actually did. Other urban crossovers are cute, the Envista is gorgeous.
- As with other Buick products, the Envista’s infotainment system is chock full of features and it’s all controlled through a generously sized 11-inch touchscreen. The interface is well laid out and easy to use while driving.
- For a small vehicle, the Envista is impressively spacious, especially for rear-seat occupants that enjoy plenty of legroom.
- The Envista features many active safety features as standard, such as autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning and lane keep assist and automatic high beams, while blind spot monitoring is just an option package away, as the Advanced Safety Package also rounds up rear park assist, adaptive cruise control and rear cross traffic alert. The Advanced Safety Package is standard in Canada.
What the 2025 Buick Envista Doesn’t Do Well
- While delivering sufficient power and a good amount of low-end torque, the three-cylinder engine isn’t very punchy and lacks overall refinement. The small-displacement turbocharged engine should normally deliver great fuel economy, but the official ratings place it mid-pack in the segment. Some rivals do better with bigger four-cylinder engines.
- The front pillars are pretty wide, and obstruct outward visibility. Not a problem on the open road, but we must pay close attention to other vehicles and pedestrians while we’re navigating through busy intersections.
- The Envista has a stiff ride, especially with the 19-inch wheels that are optional on the Sport Touring, standard on the Avenir.
- The crossover’s seats feel a little overstuffed and lack lateral support. Not the most comfortable in the urban crossover category.
2025 Buick Envista Competition
The Buick Envista competes with the Chevrolet Trax, the Hyundai Venue, the Kia Soul and the Nissan Kicks Play.
