The Lyriq was introduced five months ago but COVID-19 had different plans for the reveal.
Sized like the current XT5, the Lyriq will launch Cadillac into its electric future.
It features a 33-inch curved OLED screen.
The ongoing pandemic disrupted everything and continues to do so. Just ahead of the Continent being put on hold, GM revealed its impressive flexible EV platform strategy and clearly had huge plans to roll out announcements about new products in the following months. While we’re not out of the woods yet, the show must go on and the Cadillac Lyriq will be revealed in only a few short months.
The teaser video teases certain portions of the new Lyriq including what looks to be a part of the front bumper, its fog lights, and a front fender with an integrated Cadillac logo. What looks to be a grille at first because of the texturing is actually a door card with seat controls, and that’s about it. Much of everything else automotive in the video is from other Cadillac models, including the 2021 Cadillac Escalade’s curved OLED screen combo.
Cadillac will virtually debut the Lyriq on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 7 p.m. ET.
