Canadian Pricing For 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel Is Set At $49,395

FCA Canada announced today the pricing for the new 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel. The 3.0-litre V6 powered Ram will start at $49,395.

The full-size diesel pickup segment is on fire recently. Whether it’s from Ford adding the diesel option on more trim lines or with the newcomer, the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Duramax taking aim directly at the Ram EcoDiesel, FCA had to react. And they did.

In June, Ram revealed that the war was not over when they’ve published the output of their 3.0-litre V6 EcoDiesel engine. The numbers of the third generation EcoDiesel engine increased just enough to beat the current segment leader, GM’s V6 Duramax.

Indeed, the RAM’s 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 produces its 480 lb-ft of torque at 1,600 rpm, a 14% increase from the second generation EcoDiesel V6. The horsepower figures also climbs 8% to 260 at 3,600 rpm. Meanwhile, the towing capacity reaches 5,697 kilograms (12,560 pounds).

In Canada, all this can be yours for $49,395 for the 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel Tradesman Quad Cab 2WD. The EcoDiesel option cost $5,800 over the standard 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine on Tradesman and Big Horn. On the Ram 1500 Sport, Rebel, Laramie, Longhorn, Limited, which comes standard with the 5.7-litre HEMI V8, the EcoDiesel option costs $3,900.

“The Ram 1500 EcoDiesel offers the best torque and towing among all half-ton diesel trucks,” said Reid Bigland, Head of Ram Brand. “Now with a 10-year track record, the Ram brand has emerged as a truck powertrain technology leader. Overall, the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel has outstanding pick-up truck capability and is truly in a class of its own.”

New this year is that the Ram Rebel will be able to also get the EcoDiesel. In short, the diesel option is available across all models and configurations on the 2020 Ram 1500.
