Founded in 1983, Saleen celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2023. This special anniversary was observed at the Muscle Cars and Corvette Nationals show, held November 18-19 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.
For the occasion, a portion of the show was dedicated to the brand, and a dozen Saleen cars, mainly third-generation Ford Mustangs, were proudly lined up. These cars represent the infancy of the brand associated with Ford performance.
The company founded by Steve Saleen officially began preparing Mustangs in 1984 and expanded the following year. In 1986, Saleen entered the world of motor racing by fitting out Mustangs to compete in the Sport Club of America series. In fact, a number of race-bred models were on display at the show.
Among the examples for all to see, we particularly liked the 1985 Ford Mustang Saleen painted in Light Regatta Blue. Only two units in this color were produced this year. Its rarity cannot be questioned.
