Despite a minimal 30% drop in new EV sales in Canada last year, General Motors led the national EV market with a commanding 21.2% share, registering more than 25,000 registrations across its portfolio. The company offers 13 EV models under its Chevrolet, Cadillac, and GMC brands.

Chevrolet accounted for 13.3% of Canada’s EV market, with the Equinox EV ranking as the country’s second most registered electric vehicle behind Tesla. In the luxury category, Cadillac led all competitors with a 32.1% share, supported by the Cadillac OPTIQ and LYRIQ, which were the top two registered luxury EVs nationally.
GM also retained its position as Canada’s overall auto sales leader in 2025 for the third consecutive year, securing 15.5% of the total vehicle market with nearly 300,000 units sold. The company’s EV success contributed to this performance alongside its internal combustion offerings.
GM’s Canadian EV portfolio includes full-size electric trucks such as the Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV, and GMC HUMMER EV. In the luxury segment, Cadillac’s EV lineup includes the OPTIQ, LYRIQ, VISTIQ, and electric versions of the Escalade. Chevrolet offers the Blazer EV and Equinox EV. The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt, expected to be one of Canada’s most affordable EVs, will offer an estimated range of up to 422 kilometres.
