The Equinox EV will feature a side-by-side arrangement for the instrument cluster and the infotainment screens
The center console will be of a split-level style
The Equinox EV RS will arrive in the fall of 2023, with the LT following in 2024
Chevrolet is working hard to keep buyers excited about its upcoming electric vehicles and to do so, it has released a new teaser video of the Equinox EV, this time showing the interior in greater detail.
The Chevrolet Equinox EV will be a compact electric SUV that is supposed to be quite affordable, since the automaker said it will have a starting price of $30,000 in the United States.
The video shows a modern interior that shares some similarities with the Silverado EV, the other hotly anticipated electric Chevrolet.
The most obvious similarity concerns the infotainment and driver information screens, which are joined together in a slightly curved panel that juts out from the dashboard.
The video shows the center screen to be very large and it seems as if the physical volume knob is surrounded by the touchscreen, in a similar way to the screen in the Ford Mach-E and F-150 Lightning.
The screen appears to control many functions of the vehicle since just under the volume control are five square icons on the screen which look to be related to the lights and the driver assistance systems.
The climate control system is also controlled via the screen although there are physical controls provided below the center vents for drivers who prefer using them instead.
The driver information screen features a large digital speed readout in the middle, surrounded by a battery meter and what looks to be a power usage display. The right most part of the screen displays the audio status in the video and it is no doubt able to show many other information.
The center console will be of a split-level design, with an open storage space under the cupholders and the USB ports. The shift lever is not on this console, it looks like it is installed on the right side of the steering column instead.
Lighted accents on the dashboard in front of the passenger and on the door panels round up the features that are readily seen in the video, along with the blue glow of the footwell lighting.
Buyers will have to wait for a while to see the interior in more detail since the Equinox EV is a 2024 model year vehicle, meaning the RS version will only arrive in the fall of 2023, with the LT, shown in the video, following early in 2024.
