Four-wheel steering will come with 24-inch wheels.
4-wheel steering will increase stability and agility.
By the end of 2022, there will be nearly a half-dozen all-electric large pickups for buyers to select from. Each automaker will load up these trucks will all kinds of features and capabilities and one of GM’s Chevrolet Silverado’s tricks will be four-wheel steering.
Although it’s not specified in the brief press release nor in the even briefer video, we assume that the “Four-Wheel Steer” feature will be similar to that of the Hummer EV. If you recall, nearly a year ago, Hummer teased the truck’s “crab mode” which can only be achieved if all four wheels can change direction.
GM specifies that “Four-Wheel Steer” will include 24-inch wheels which look intense. The feature will be available on certain models and trims, perhaps leaving out fleet-destined trucks. As well, the all-electric Silverado will be build, from the ground up, with GM’s Ultium EV technologies. Otherwise, the range is expected to hover around the 650km mark.
No official dates have been announced but we’re guessing that a late 2022 introduction for the 2023 model year is highly probable.
