The Duramax diesel engine is more powerful.
The infotainment system is paired with a new 17.7-inch touchscreen.
Suspension and interior have been reworked.
In 2021, Chevrolet introduced the fifth-generation Tahoe and the twelfth-generation Suburban. For 2025, Chevrolet is announcing a series of improvements and additions to enhance its offering in the full-size SUV segment.
A more efficient diesel engine
Among the new features expected for 2025 is an improved 3.0L Duramax in-line six-cylinder turbodiesel engine. Essentially, it receives the same treatment as that given to the Silverado 1500 a little earlier. Horsepower is up from 277 to 305, and torque climbs from 460 to 495 lb-ft. It continues to be mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission. For the first time, it will now be possible to combine this powertrain with the Z71 version.
The 5.3L V8 engine remains standard on LS, LT, RST, Z71 and Premier versions. The 6.2 L V8 engine is standard on the High Country version, but optional on the RST Z71 and Premier versions.
New Visual Upgrades
From a visual standpoint, the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban duo is entitled to a number of new features. As you can see from the photos, new 24-inch wheels have been added to the catalog. The front section of the vehicle has also been slightly reworked. The designers have also reworked the headlights and taillights.
The following colors have been added to the color palette: Cypress Gray and Lakeshore Metallic Blue.
General Motors has also modernized the interior of the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban 2025. As standard, the SUVs are equipped with a 17.7-inch touchscreen for navigating the infotainment system. Right in front of the driver’s eyes is an 11-inch digital instrument cluster.
The steering wheel and console have also been redesigned.
With the current generation of Tahoe and Suburban models, Chevrolet introduced independent multi-link rear suspensions. These have been reworked for the new model year. What’s more, the manufacturer mentions that adaptive suspensions and magnetic suspensions are back in the catalog.
SUVs capable of towing
For 2025, the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban duo continue to offer the same towing capacity. These are 8400 and 8200 pounds respectively.
However, General Motors has added a host of new features to make towing easier for users. The following features are new for 2025: a trailer tire pressure monitor, an application showing the weight of the trailer load in real time, trailer tracking guide lines, assistance for backing a boat downhill, and a Google-designed navigation system that suggests a route based on the trailer being towed.
The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban 2025 will continue to be assembled in Texas, USA. They are scheduled to go on sale next year. Pricing has not yet been announced.
