Like the Colorado ZR2 Bison, this version will be a dedicated off-roader

This truck is due on sale this summer
Chevrolet teased a new version of the 2023 Silverado pickup, the ZR2 Bison in a video posted on Youtube.
The Silverado will follow in the footsteps of its smaller brother, the Colorado, by offering the Bison package on top of the ZR2 trim, which was added for 2022.
The ZR2 model is already an off-road focussed version that is equipped with a slew of features engineered to make the truck more capable and to protect its mechanical elements when progressing on tough terrains.
The Bison package adds a number of new elements that are mostly decorative, but some of them are actually useful, such as the full set of skid plates installed under the truck in order to preserve the engine, transmission, and rear axle from getting hit or caught on rocks or other debris.
The video shows a slightly different front end and fog lights, which suggests that the distinctive steel bumper from the Colorado ZR2 Bison will be carried over to the larger truck.
The same goes for the wheels, which are an exclusive design manufactured by American Expedition Vehicles (AEV), the same company that makes the bumper.
Apart from those changes, the Silverado ZR2 Bison is likely to be quite similar to the regular ZR2, save from badges and styling touches inside and out.
Under the hood, no modifications are expected, meaning that this model will use the same 6.2L V8 which delivers 420 horsepower to front and rear electronic locking differentials through a 10-speed automatic transmission. The suspension will also keep the ZR2-specific dampers and the 33-inch off-road tires.
Chevrolet says to expect this new model later in the summer but it hasn’t revealed its price yet. Considering that the Bison package adds $7,475 to the smaller Colorado ZR2 in Canada, the 2023 Silverado ZR2 Bison is expected to sell for around $88,000 in the country.
