Ford and Ram have their high-powered trucks in the Raptor and TRX. It’s Chevy’s turn.
The Yenko/SC Silverado is prepared by Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE).
True GM full-size truck fans must have felt a little left out over the last nine months or so. While Chevy’s main competitors got new super-trucks, the Silverado was essentially left behind. Once more, Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) comes to the aid of those who need more “truck” from their Silverado.
This latest limited-run truck from SVE, the Chevrolet Yenko/SC Silverado California Edition, will be powered by a supercharged LT1 6.2-litre V8. Bolted to the engine will be a 3.0-litre twin-screw supercharger that will, with the help of upgraded cooling, and high-flow intake and exhaust systems, produce no less than 710 horsepower.
The 50 Yenko/SC Silverados that will be built will features, according to Motor Authority, upsized six-piston calipers up front, a tuned suspension that includes upgraded Fox shocks that lowers the pickup, and more handling bits. Physically, the trucks will include 22-inch wheels a power-dome hood, and various striping and other visual accents.
The SVE Yenko/SC Silverado California Edition can be ordered from GM dealerships and based on any 2021 6.2-litre Crew Cab and double cab Silverado models including Custom, Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss, RST, LTZ, and High Country with a short bed or standard bed.
