Hyundai has announced plans to globally debut its new CRATER Concept, an off-road compact SUV, at the upcoming AutoMobility LA 2025 event. The unveiling will take place during a press conference on November 20 at 9:45 a.m. Pacific Time and will be streamed live on the HyundaiUSA YouTube channel.

The CRATER Concept will remain on display throughout AutoMobility LA’s media days and during the public days of the Los Angeles Auto Show, which run from November 21 to 30. Hyundai has not confirmed any production plans for the vehicle, which is currently intended as a design-focused show model.
Developed at Hyundai America Technical Center Inc. (HATCI) in Irvine, California, the CRATER Concept is a reflection of Hyundai’s ongoing exploration of off-road vehicle design. The vehicle is described as drawing inspiration from extreme natural environments and is intended to capture a spirit of adventure.

Though technical specifications have not been released, the concept is positioned as a compact off-road SUV and fits within Hyundai’s XRT models design philosophy, which includes the IONIQ 5 XRT, Santa Cruz XRT, and Palisade XRT PRO. These models prioritize rugged exterior design and enhanced driving capability. Based on the image, the CRATER concept looks to offer far more than simply cladding and off-road tires.
A teaser sketch of the vehicle has been released ahead of the AutoMobility LA debut. The press conference will be viewable globally via livestream beginning at 9:45 a.m. PT on November 20.
