The return of DeLorean has been touted at least twice in the last six years or so.
A new fully electric and luxurious DeLorean could be an easy sell given the brand’s star power.
Well, the name and the fact that the EVolved will feature, as it should, gullwing doors. DeLorean DMC was acquired by British engineer Stephen Wynne back in 1995. Little has come from the new owners in more than 25 years except for a few hints that the beloved movie car would make a return.

Back in 2016, DMC received the OK to build 300 copies as a continuation series. More recently, Italdesign teased an image of a DeLorean hinting that they were once again involved in the car’s design. It was Giorgetto Giugiaro, founder of Italdesign, who penned the original car after all.
This time, as reported by Autocar, DeLorean DMC has teased the new car on Twitter. From the tweet, we know its name as the EVolved, that it will luxurious unlike the original, and that it will premiere this year. Beyond that, we’ll have to wait to find out about its powertrain and performance.
