Offers special colour on Scat Pack but also GT models?
Also offering black-out badges and trim in SRT pack
Dodge is adding some new colour options to the Charger and Challenger that it says harken back to the original Hemi V8 engines. They’re also calling the new orange and black packages ready for Halloween, though if you order one, you probably won’t have it in time for this year’s festivities.
Mopar showcased early versions of the Hemi V8 in its muscle cars by painting the engine block a distinctive orange that set it apart from rivals at Chevrolet and Ford. While they won’t be painting the engines this time – you can’t see them under all of the modern equipment anyway – they will be offering a Hemi Orange appearance package as well as an SRT Black package for 2022 Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger.
Hemi Orange will be offered on Scat Pack Widebody models of each of the vehicles, featuring a new orange accent stripe as well as gunmetal striping. The grille will be outlined in orange, same goes for the badges on the fender and trunk. Scat Pack cars get orange Brembo calipers while inside the cars will have orange stitching on the seats, dash, and doors.
Oddly, the orange package will also be available on GT RWD cars, which come with a 3.6L Pentastar V6 and not any form of the iconic Hemi. Much more logically, the stripes will come to the 2022 Durango R/T with more details on that one early next year.
SRT Black, offered on Challenger and Charger Hellcat and Hellcat Redeye matches the Durango’s SRT Black pack with exterior badges in a Midnight Grey Metallic finish. Orders open for the two appearance options this quarter.
