Drone Shots Show Tesla’s Diner Supercharge Station Construction

Next charging evolution underway

  • Tesla Diner will open in East Hollywood

  • Site will have 50s-style diner, pair of movie screens

Tesla is well into construction on its most ambitious Supercharger site yet. The new site is under construction in LA, and a new drone video captures the progress and what the site will look like.

The electric car company announced plans for the Tesla Diner a few years back. CEO Elon Musk teased that he was “gonna put an old school drive-in, roller skates & rock restaurant at one of the new Tesla Supercharger locations in LA.”

Work is now well underway at the East Hollywood site, and we can see the diner building construction take shape. Musk plans a seating area as well as a pair of movie screens, giving drivers something to do when they’re charging their Teslas and now other new EVs as more and more brands move to use the company’s J3400 charging standard.

The parking lot at the site doesn’t look massive, but it should still be able to handle plenty of EV charge stations. 32 charge stalls are expected to be installed. If you’re not walking into the diner to eat, Musk had planned on carhop-style waitstaff on rollerskates to bring charging drivers their food.
