Camper designed specifically for the go-anywhere EV
Carbon body integrated into Hummer chassis
The GMC Hummer EV just got a lot cooler and a lot more practical. High-end adventure camper company EarthCruiser has just launched a slide-in camper like no other, designed specifically for the EV.
EarthCruiser’s GMC Hummer EV starts with a carbon fibre house body that is fully integrated into the Hummer’s chassis. Then EarthCruiser fitted 605W of solar power to the roof and a whopping 6 kWh of 12V lithium battery cells. The pack gives the EarthCruiser Hummer the ability to power itself (including a fridge/freezer) for about seven days without the need to use the battery that powers the wheels.
The camper is insulated for all four seasons and includes a three-layer pop-up roof. It’s also loaded with 120V and 12V plugs, clever storage solutions, and a toilet that packs flat. All controlled from a 7-inch touchscreen as you lay in your full-sized bed.
In camping mode, the Hummer EV will be 117-inches tall to give it 80-inches of headroom at the entry point, and total height is 90-inches when the roof is down. The camper will come with locking utility hookupes, exterior recovery gear storage, an outdoor shower, and 13.5 gallons of fresh water capacity along with a 7-gallon grey water tank. Inside, it will have a sink and induction cooktop as well as dimmable cabin lights.
EarthCruiser and GMC are planning to sell the upfit camper starting next year. They’ll have more product availability info and pricing coming next year. Though GMC made the official product announcement, the company reminds you that it’s not part of the GMC warranty.
