- Window resistance test fail at Tesla Cybertruck unveil has been heavily derided
- Video shared by Elon Musk shows Cybertruck window resisting to steel ball
There’s a lot that happened when Elon Musk unveiled the Cybertruck last Thursday, but the highlight was the steel ball shattering the glass that was supposed to be unbreakable. Twice.
You could clearly feel how surprised the Tesla founder was when the glass broke, and how disappointed he was when it broke on a subsequent attempt using the rear window.
Call it Murphy’s law or an unfortunate single occurence, what’s certain is that Musk wants us to know that the Cybertruck’s windows are in fact unbreakable.
Yesterday Musk posted a video on is Twitter account of the Tesla truck resisting to the steel ball used in the presentation.
Franz throws steel ball at Cybertruck window right before launch. Guess we have some improvements to make before production haha. pic.twitter.com/eB0o4tlPoz

So there you have it. The Tesla Cybertruck should in most cases be able to resist the impact of a steel ball on its windows, although there’s no guarantee.
Let’s just conclude that the Cybertruck’s windows are more resistant to impacts than most vehicles, and leave it at that.
