UPDATE: General Motors has announced that the updated 2022 Chevrolet Equinox will launch in the 2021 calendar year, later than initially expected.
The current generation Chevrolet Equinox arrived in early 2017 for the 2018 model year. As is the norm, a refresh is the norm a few years after the launch. Competition is extremely fierce in the compact SUV segment and it forced the Equinox off the top 10 best-selling SUV list in 2019.
Chevrolet hopes to get back into the hearts of Canadian SUV buyers with its revised 2021 Chevrolet Equinox. The biggest changes come in the form of a completely revised front fascia injected with Chevy Blazer attitude. The grille is sharper and there are now new LED headlamps on its flanks. The rear end is spruced up with new taillights.
A sporty RS trim joins the ranks and features a gloss-black grille, black 19-inch wheels, black interior treatment, and red contrast interior stitching. The top-line Premier also receives an upgraded grille with extra brightwork, and interior touches including a high gloss black finish.
On the safety front, the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox can be equipped with lane-keep assist, rear vision camera, automatic emergency braking, and much more.
The 2021 Chevrolet Equinox arrives this fall.
