Ferrari unveiled the Amalfi today, a front-mid-engine V8 2+ coupé that replaces the Roma in the Italian marque’s lineup. The new model combines high performance with everyday versatility, featuring a 640-horsepower twin-turbo V8 engine and advanced brake-by-wire technology.

The Amalfi’s 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 from Ferrari’s award-winning F154 family produces 640 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque. Performance figures include 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.3 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 9.0 seconds, and a top speed of 320 km/h. The dry weight of 1470 kg delivers a power-to-weight ratio of 2.29 kg/hp.

“The new Ferrari Amalfi is a sports car that evolves the Grand Tourer concept, capable of combining extremely high performance with great everyday versatility,” Ferrari stated in the announcement.

Advanced Technology and Design Features

The Amalfi introduces brake-by-wire technology to Ferrari’s front-engine lineup, improving braking efficiency and pedal modulation. The ABS Evo system, adapted from the 296 GTB, optimizes brake force distribution across all surfaces and Manettino driving modes. An active rear spoiler automatically adjusts between three configurations based on speed and acceleration, generating an additional 110 kg of downforce at 250 km/h in High Downforce mode.

Interior technology centres on a triple-display setup comprising a 15.6-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch central touchscreen, and an 8.8-inch passenger display. The steering wheel returns to physical buttons for improved tactile control, while Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard with wireless smartphone charging.

The 2+ seating configuration includes rear seats that enhance cargo capacity beyond the 273-litre boot space, making the Amalfi more practical for family use. Optional features include a front lifting system for urban obstacles, raising the car up to 40 mm at speeds below 35 km/h, and a Burmester premium audio system with 14 speakers and 1200 watts of power.

The Amalfi rides on 20-inch wheels with 245/35 R20 front tyres and 285/35 R20 rear tyres, co-developed with Bridgestone and Pirelli. The car measures 4,660 mm in length, 1,974 mm in width, and 1,301 mm in height, with a 2,670 mm wheelbase and a 50/50 weight distribution.

Standard safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition. Optional systems include surround view cameras and rear cross traffic alert.

The eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, first introduced on the SF90 Stradale, has been optimized with improved control software for smoother shifts. Engine efficiency benefits from lightweight camshafts, redesigned engine block machining, and low-viscosity oil that reduces cold resistance by 30%.

Ferrari offers a seven-year genuine maintenance programme covering all regular maintenance with 20,000 km or annual intervals. The programme includes original parts and diagnostics performed by Ferrari-trained technicians across the global dealership network.
