The world’s most prestigious automaker, Ferrari, and its parent company Exor N.V., have just announced a partnership with the design firm LoveFrom. The multi-year agreement will include a multitude of related projects, as well as the development of the Maranello brand’s first ever electric car.
LoveFrom is a design company founded by former Apple designer John Ive and Marc Newson. The former Apple employee since 1996 notably worked on the Apple Watch before leaving the American company in 2019.
“As Ferrari owners and collectors, we couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with this extraordinary company and in particular with the design team masterfully led by Flavio Manzoni […] We see unique and exciting opportunities to work together that we believe will generate important and valuable work,” John Ive and Marc Newson said.
It’s too early to tell what the two new partners will be working on, but it’s clear that the mandate will be broader than the automotive side. The fashion industry is an example, as is the luxury goods industry.
As for this collaboration with Ferrari’s design team, we’ll have to wait to see the LoveFrom effect on Ferrari’s car lineup, as the Italian giant plans to move into the all-electric niche by 2025. Both designers could conceivably be involved in this new chapter in the history of the prancing horse, but at the time of writing, details remain limited.
