Ferrari will be unveiling a hybrid supercar before the end of month.
Ferrari CEO Louis Camilleri told investors during its Q1 financial call to expect a new hybrid model before the end of May. The unveiling will happen in Maranello. Camilleri told one investor the new Ferrari hybrid would sit above the 812 Superfast in the Ferrari lineup, thus making it the current top-of-the-line Ferrari. It won’t be a replacement to the 488 Camilleri said, which likely means the new hybrid isn’t an electrified F8 Tributo.
It doesn’t appear that the new hybrid Ferrari will be a LaFerrari replacement either. It should be a bit less restricted in production than the LaFerrari, but this is just speculation at this point. The only other thing we know about this new electrified Ferrari is that it will feature a new human-machine interface according to the Ferrari boss. No other details were given.
Ferrari has been testing hybrid technology on prototypes that look exactly like a 488, but most believe this is just a deception on the part of Ferrari. Chances are, we will have to wait until the end of the month to know what a new Ferrari Hybrid will look like and what type of engine will power it.
