The hint for its destined model is “Heart Of A Thoroughbred” found on Ferrari’s website.
Further details are non-existent with the exception of another possible hint.
Car and Ferrari enthusiasts can rest easy for a little while longer. That’s right, the Italian automaker is not quite done with its legendary V12 engine. Unlike previous 12-cylinder screamers, this one probably will feature some kind of assistance. With little doubt, it will end up in the Purosangue SUV.

The last part comes from Ferrari where they say the new engine will end up in a “game-changing” new vehicle. No matter how “game-changing” is interpreted, Ferrari must be referring to the Purosangue SUV. Now, as far as powertrains are concerned, Ferrari has never specified which one will power the SUV but many believe that the 296 GTB’s plug-in hybrid V6 engine or a V8 would find their way under the bonnet.
With this announcement, it seems clear that a V12 will provide motivation for the SUV but unlike the 812’s mill that will rev to 9,000 rpm, the Twitter post reveals an engine that sounds far tamer and more muffled. Might it be a pair of 296 GTB engines slapped together?
Ferrari should reveal more on the V12 and the Purosangue.
