The new car will debut on April 19th.
The 296 is the first V6-powered Ferrari in almost 50 years.
Ferrari’s latest 296 GTB is arguably one of the legendary supercar maker’s most beautiful modern creations. It’s also an incredibly sophisticated car as its plug-in hybrid powertrain is not only efficient but indecently powerful.
For Ferrari’s next act, all are assuming that they will soon reveal the 296’s Spider version. The teaser image reveals next to nothing other than what looks like a dip in the body work ahead of the rear wheel arches.
The Spider’s launch is realistic as images of a race-prepped GT3 are circulating online. All three cars are powered by a new 120° twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine coupled with a plug-in (PHEV) electric motor capable of delivering up to 830 horsepower. The power enables the 296 GTB to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in only 2.9 seconds on its way to a top speed of more than 330 km/h.
Ferrari will remove the wraps off the new car on April 19th. Meanwhile, many are still awaiting the official unveiling of the Purosangue SUV. 2022 will be another big year for Ferrari.
