The test mule looks like a 488 GTB.
A hybrid V6 Ferrari was first announced two years ago.
When it comes down to it, there are two time-honored crucial elements to a Ferrari, and, in 21st Century, a new one. A Ferrari has to be fast and powerful and today, it needs to cap emissions in the process. Electrification is the way to go and Ferrari has already embraced the technology as demonstrated by the incredible SF90 Stradale. The V6 hybrid Ferrari however may become a new entry-level model.
European Union emission regulations are tightening up fast and Ferrari needs to prepare and judging by the video, shared by Varryx, the V6 hybrid’s development is well underway. The car can be seen drifting slightly on a few occasions and frankly, it looks quick enough. If there are any doubts as to whether or not this is in fact a V6, turn up the volume – a Ferrari V8, even a turbocharged one does not sound like this.
This test-mule sports a 488 body which could mean that this car’s design is still in the drawing stages. Either way, the production V6 hybrid Ferrari isn’t expected to arrive before the end of 2022. And as for the powertrain’s layout, it’s safe to assume that it will be AWD, like the Stradale, with a front-mount electric motor.
