The 2025 Fiat 500e is a fully electric city car, and one of two BEVs in the small car category for this model year. It’s also the only Fiat model available in Canada at the moment.
Introduced for the 2024 model year, the 500e offers room for four passengers in a subcompact format, and it’s the most affordable electric car in the Canadian market. While cabriolet and four-door (with a swing-out passenger-side rear half-door) body styles are available in other markets, as well as a hybrid powertrain, Canada only gets the three-door EV.
2025 Fiat 500e Changes and Updates
After launching in 2024, the 500e gets a new variant called the Giorgio Armani Collector’s Edition. A collaboration between Fiat and the Italian designer, the 500e Giorgio Armani Collector’s Edition features a monochrome exterior appearance with beige paint, black alloy wheels wearing the GA logo, leather seating with three-dimensional inserts and chevron pattern stitching as well as dashboard woodgrain trim.
Otherwise, there are no changes to the 500e for the 2025 model year.

In Canada, the Fiat 500e is backed by a Basic Warranty for 3 years or 60,000 km, whichever comes first, while the high-voltage battery and propulsion system are covered for 8 years or 160,000 km. Body sheet metal panel perforation corrosion is covered for 3 years and unlimited km, and outer body panels (which can be seen while walking around the vehicle and is painted body colour) are covered by perforation corrosion for 5 years or 160,000 km.
In addition, 24-hour roadside assistance is offered on the 500e for 5 years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first.
What the 2025 Fiat 500e Does Well
- Expectedly, the 500e is great for city commuting. It’s small and nimble, and its 9.6-metre turning diameter allows it to squirt in and out of parking spaces with ease.
- It’s a subjective opinion, but the 500e looks good. Just like all previous generations of the minicar that preceded it. The interior design boasts quality materials and an upscale appearance as well.
- Obviously, the 500e is the lowest-priced EV on the market, with a base price of just over $40K.
- It may be small, but it can be well-equipped. Available features include a Uconnect 5 infotainment system with 10.25-inch touchscreen, a seven-inch digital driver instrument cluster, navigation, automatic climate control, a JBL seven-speaker sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats, blind-spot monitoring, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, front and rear park sonar, rain-sensing windshield wipers and adaptive cruise control.
What the 2025 Fiat 500e Doesn’t Do Well
- While the 500e can be equipped with many features, a heated steering wheel isn’t one of them. That’s a shame for Canadian shoppers who’d like to keep their hands warm in colder seasons.
- As one would expect with such a small car, the battery pack is just big enough to provide a driving range of a little over 200 km on a full charge. That may not be enough for many EV buyers, especially in winter when electric vehicle range drops noticeably due to extra use of the HVAC system and to winter tires.
- Unfortunately, Fiat products offered in North America over the past decade or so haven’t been all that reliable. Being equipped with an electric motor instead of a gasoline powertrain may eliminate a lot of potential problem sources, but it’s only its second year on the market. Leasing instead of buying may be the best recommendation here.
- Well, it’s small. Very small. Some people might not fit, and if they do, they might not feel comfortable. However, that shouldn’t be much of a surprise. It’s even worse for those relegated to the rear seats.
