Last weekend, during the 2019 World Final, Lamborghini released a teaser of its upcoming Squadra Corse hypercar.
The 2019 World Final was held last weekend at the Circuito de Jerez. The Lamborghini Super Trofeo, which is the Italian manufacturer’s one-make series, was in Spain to close the 2019 racing season.
There, Lamborghini took the opportunity to unveil a teaser of the very first hypercar of Squadra Corse, the carmaker’s division specializing in motorsports.
The track only, 12-cylinder hypercar will be produced in a limited edition and will debut in 2020. The 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine, pushing 830hp, will be mated to a 6-speed sequential Xtrac transmission.
Talking about the gearbox, Lamborghini says that it has “a structural load-bearing function, with respect to the suspension compartment, the arms of which are directly connected to the gearbox, guaranteeing optimal kinematics and a significant improvement in the stiffness to weight ratio.”
The Squadra Corse hypercar will feature a carbon fibre monocoque with an aluminum front frame joined to it.
The Squadra Corse developed and Centro Stile designed hypercar will be fitted with a large rear wing, an airscoop on the roof, and a racing hood with dual air intakes.
